    Powergloss vs. M105 with G110?

Hi guys, just looking for some opinions here. I started detailing this summer, had great results with the M105/205 combos with 6' Sonus Yellow pads for 105 and 5.5' LC white for 205. I used a G110.

I did about 3-4 Honda's with impressive results. Not perfect, but I would say 90% correction.

Then I tried an Altima and an Infiniti G35 with the same combo (both were pearl paints). Using the same polishing technique, the M105 barely removed anything. Correction took much longer and with much less successful results.

That got me thinking to go to another polish. What about Menz powergloss? SIP? What cars have you tried it on so far and what results have you seen compared to the M105?

Or is it time to move to a Flex 3401 and keep the G110 for Hondas only?

i do a lot of Infinitis. I have found that 105 with a pfw pad will do everything. I'd like to try a Megs black wool pad which is even more aggressive. 105 is a great product with the right pad. Follow it up with your 205 and you should be golden.

I think M105 is an excellent product. It can used for various vehicles. Pad selection, speed, and pressure (rotary) can yield a variety of results.

I have used it with yellow, orange, and PFW pads. I sold my powergloss because of it.

All you need is smaller pads. 4" will work much better than a 6" pad on a G110. Keep the M105, and look up the Kevin Brown Method.

I have 4' orange pads. They aren't any better. The main problem is that ccs pads are terrible for the PC/G110, so any flat pad around 6' should be fine since they all keep turning with heavy pressure. And I have been using KBM.

Well you would have to understand the basic principle behind using a small pad, it WILL correct faster. There's a guy who ONLY uses the KBM and a PC/M105/M205 and gets very good results, even on paint that's rock hard. I wouldn't recommend getting PFW, instead the Surbuf pads are what he personally recommends for the PC.

The small pad doesn't spin any faster. The principle behind using it is that it doesn't bog down at high pressure. But neither does my sonus yellow. Not to mention that high pressure on a 4' pad will rip it up after 2 panels from my experience.

EDIT: just read up on the surbuf pads, Im gonna try those out. I'm going for the 6.5', since that size seems to be most recommended.

I haven't tried these but some detailers I know and trust say the new LC Hydo pads are a big step above the rest.
