Paint chipping/flaking off from bumper rock chips - advice on how to prevent further flaking needed

After a recent 3 hour drive, I looked at my front bumper and noticed some new rock chips which wasn't totally unexpected. However, some of the rock chips have paint around the edges of the chip that is peeling back ready to flake/chip/break off. That's the part that's new to me. A couple pictures of what I'm talking about can be found HERE.

The first thing I do when I get to my destination after a trip like this is wash my car to get all the bug jerky off and everything else that accumulates over the course of such a trip. When I saw the places where the paint is ready to chip or flake off, I knew I needed to ask for advice as to how to handle the issue currently as well as what I need to do to best insure the flaking/chipping from these rock chips doesn't continue in the future during washing/claying/polishing/waxing/etc.

The car is my daily driver so I know that the finish is going to continue to get knicks/scratches/chips as it gets more miles, but I address them as they happen and really do try to keep my car clean/polished/looking good.

It's a 1996 Mustang Cobra that came with the color shifting Mystic clearcoat paint. The bumper (and other panels) has been resprayed before in case that makes a difference.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the chipping/flaking only happening on the re-spray areas?. Im no expert, but if its located only on the respray areas it would suggest it wasnt done properly. I hope you get it resolved, this is no fun at all, especially on a nice car like that.

It's only happening on the front bumper which, of course, is where most rock chips end up (on my car at least). The bumper was sprayed about 5 or 6 years ago. It's got tons of stone chips since then, but this last trip was the first time that any of the chips had paint peeling up from their edges.

I figure worst case scenario, I'll clean the bumper really, really gently, then apply a couple of coats of clear nail polish (or something similar) to the spots and surrounding areas and then just be really careful around those areas in the future.
