Couple possible jobs coming up that I wanted to get some advice on. Reason for the post is that it's not something I've ever done before.

The first is a large race car trailer that is burgandy in color. It's aluminum I believe. Not sure what kind of clear coat these have, if any. Or if it's a single stage type of paint that is on it. The owner just wants to tidy it up a bit, not make it perfect. But it's dirty and could use a shine. I thought about going over there with some Quik Detailer and spraying off a small section, wiping it dry, and then hitting it with my Griot's DA with a light polish and maybe an Uber Green Pad or something not aggressive just to see what kind of difference, if any, it makes.

    This is it...

The second possible job is a 1957 Bel-Air that is teal in color. Has been repainted a few years ago with DuPont paint and supposedly has several coats of clear coat, as that was the first thing I asked if it was single stage or something. It's a driver car so it's not going for perfection either but there are swirls in the top sections of the car and as it goes further down it gets hazy in the finish somewhat. I think it could be improved but I want a second opinion from someone on what to use. Also, it has lots of chrome and some aluminum trim which I don't have a lot of experience with "correcting" so to speak. If I can't improve on it, it's no big deal but I want to try what I can with my small polisher on the chrome but don't know what to try first.

    Tools I have:

Griot's DA 6" and 3" with all sorts of foam and microfiber pads (no 3")
    Menzerna FG400
    Menzerna SF4000
    Menzerna SI1500
    Menzerna Powerlock.

So my questions are what do you think I should try on the trailer?

The Bel-Air, I'm not sure what to expect so obviously I would start with the least aggressive thing and see how it improves. I don't have a paint meter yet but it makes me feel better he said it's been repainted, and it sounds like it was a good and expensive job, and that it shouldn't be single stage. Obviously I'll know as soon as I touch it with a buffer but...

Thanks for any ideas or help! Appreciate it.

im not familiar with your products but what I always do is use the least aggressive method first if that docent work change material for example a light polish with a finishing pad if thats not working then a more aggressive polish if that domes help use a cutting pad with the polish you were just using then go to a compound from mild-agressive.. i recently did a black car with heavy swirls. what I did was medium compound from P&S and a yellow pad with a flex D/A after 4 passes the swirls started going away then i used on a black finishing pad P&S "Full throttle polish" then P&S "Dark Supreme" Glaze "Ultrmacoat Polish" P&S the car came out amazing. this might work for you. this is all basic stuff but I hope it helps!
