This car belongs to a good friend of mine who has had it for a couple of years now. Being a daily driver, along with two young and active kids, the car just needed to be brought back to life.

Planned for exterior correction, wheels off and calipers steamed and sealed, clean up the interior, and touch up the engine bay. One thing I had to pay attention to was a lot of the trim pieces/badges were either vinyl or plastidipped. The wheels were also plastidipped and will be getting redone so I did not even touch them except to take them off the car so that's why they still look undone.

Really digging the way it looks now. Love these cars and hoping we can get my wife in one sometime next year. She didn't want it to leave!

    Foam wash
    Clay bar
    Dried
    Masked
Griot's 6" DA with Uber Orange foam pad / Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting Disc (for the stubborn rear)
    Menzerna FG400
    Menzerna Powerlock

Lots of pictures as usual, enjoy! Total time was almost 30 hours over 3 days.

After I drove it over suddenly wishing I lived further away lol...

    The foam thickness!

Clay bar was about what I expected

    So far, so good...

Lots of plastidip overspray was found and it slowed me down a lot. That stuff is stubborn to get off when not in one big thick layer.

    Moving on...

Time to call it another night...get it? Lol

Now to my favorite pictures. The rear end had some great 50/50 opportunities!

Lots of water spotting, hazing, and dullness around the license plate area and behind it...

Took it out for a post polishing bath, pulled back in, dried, sealed, and started on the calipers. They took about 30 minutes each as they were rather intricate with their design. No shots of the rears cause, well, they're not as big and pretty as the fronts :)

    Much improved!

    Other front side...

    Oh yeah...

    Putting her to bed again...

Up at the crack of 4hrs of sleep again to finish up! Knocked the dust off the engine bay really quickly...

I couldn't stand looking at the polished license plate holder in rough shape. I know nobody will see it but I'll know it's back there looking all dull. Here's a 50/50 lol. Holder and plate were both sealed as well...

Powerlock wiped off and bringing her out into the warm South Carolina sun to check the results...

Thanks for looking! I think my friend was very happy. He gave me some big, burly 6.3l revs before he left. It was awesome.

Beautiful work! Curious; do you run into any problems getting license plate brackets off? I sheered a bolt off of the bracket of my Volvo daily driver due to the nut being frozen on the bolt and question how often I want to replace the thing. . .

Amazing job. Question for you. So you just did a one step compounding with the fg400 then sealant? I did a similar thing with my m3 detail posted here yesterday. I finished with a uber yellow and super intensive polish and couldn't tell the difference between that and a finer polish/pad. Car looks a billion times better. Hope he paid you!!

Vjaneczko, I don't recall having too many issues with license plate brackets. It has happened once or twice and if I don't feel comfortable taking it off then I won't. Most have come off rather easily for the most part.

Mharris2007, yeah that is my "go-to" combination as it allows for less steps working on the paint but also finishes down nicely therefore most of the time not requiring another step before sealant. Depending on the car / color I sometimes have to follow up with some polish on a lighter pad

Someone correct me if I've said something incorrect.

Outstanding save there . Car looks great now. It was really hammered to start with. Hopefully you teach him how to maintain properly.
