Raceglazer Availability

Hey anyone and everyone! I have been doing a lot of research on detailing products trying to find the best and most preferred items. I am currently looking for a wash mitt.

I have heard a lot of comments regarding opinions to certain mitts and materials. However, I have heard fantastic things about the Raceglaze mitt. I am having a very difficult time locating where I can purchase one. I understand the company is based in the UK and doesn't ship to the US.

The forums I found and read are a few years old, but everyone was mentioning the/an owner, Ken (911Fanatic). I believe he works with Autowerkes Exclusive, but could not find the product on his website. I have also checked out Pakshak in HI, but they no longer have the item either. Has the original Raceglaze mitt become discontinued?


I found a revised Raceglaze mitt at http://www.vertar.com/race-glaze/race-glaze-sheepskin-thumbed-wash-mitt/. The description has an update that reads, "UPDATE:
Due to worldwide shortages of sheepskin, new stocks may vary in colour, retaining the elasticated cuff and hanging loop, with a thumb.
It now differs from the Signature Wash Mitt in size, the cuff and shape - RR1 is rounded and thumbed, Signature is squared without thumb."

Does anyone know of a way I can purchase the original mitt without the thumb insertion? The cheapest and only website I found is http://autoobsessed.com/shop/raceglaze-natural-sheepskin-mitt-p-814.html with the price of $30.

If not, I have only found three others that seem high quality for the price, but lack a double-sided material. What do you think?

I have also heard positive things about the gtechniq mitt, but also cannot find the non-microfiber product on their website.

Welcome to the Forum! I'm not sure of anywhere or anyone who would carry the mitt. Sheepskin mitt's are great but microfiber is the norm these days. They last longer as their synthetic vs natural. The best mitt around would be the Microfiber Madness Incredimitt. Cheers

If you would like to go with a wool wash mitt here is the one we carry.

We use it on a daily basis on cars that go in and out of our shop. We typically wash about 50-100 cars a month and these will last about 1-2 years with proper care.
