finish refinement

    Hi All,

I'm doing a major paint correction for my first time in 20 years.

Car is a '07 Aston DB9 Jet Black with the signature soft paint and lots of tiny scratches and some rds.

I'm using a Porter cable machine and hex logic orange and green pads with Meguires "Ultimate Compound"

I think this must be a diminishing polish as the cut and shine that comes up after even a single pass is really impressive to me.

This compound gets out about all the holograms out and 90% of the rds.

My question is what to use to further refine the finish from here.

I have both Meguires "fine Cut cleaner" and their Glaze on hand and have tried both, not sure if they are making much improvement.

Will using either of these with a softer pad improve the shine?

    Any suggestions appreciated!

Looking thru the Meguires site I find that the ultimate compound is not a diminishing polish but a different technology.

Still hoping for some guidance on what to follow it with...

Correct, UC uses a non diminishing technology. Finish down with Ultimate Polish or Meg's 205.
